I've been into surfing since I was 15, catching waves down in Victoria. Eventually, in my early twenties, I made the move up to the Northern Rivers/Gold Coast area. I'm a qualified carpenter by trade, and I've always had an eye for detail and a knack for creativity.
It was only a matter of time before I took my carpentry skills and combined them with my love for riding retro surfboards on perfect point waves like The Pass, Lennox, and Gold Coast points. That's when I started shaping and riding my own boards.
I crafted my very first board in my converted garage in Palm Beach back in 2012, and I was hooked from that point on. I've continued to make surfboards and ride them, learning what works and what doesn't. I've met some amazing people in the industry along the way who have shared their knowledge with me.
Haney Surfboards are a modern blend of retro shapes. You'll find classic outlines with fuller lower rocker single fins, twin fins and quads in my range. It's all about having a blast and catching waves, and style is a big part of it.
